What Customer Say!

I wouldn’t trust or recommend this company to anyone looking to move. Their moving pricing is very unreasonable, and you will feel like you are getting scammed. In addition to that, you run the risk of them breaking your stuff and/or losing items. Worked with Bob and his crew. Do not let him convince you to write him a review for his own business he is trying to run until they drop off your items. Then make sure you assess the damage and lost items. He bugged me into writing a review when they picked up everything, versus when the job was done, by constantly calling and texting me to ask if I had done it. Overall, I am not satisfied with the service and price, and wish I had gone with a different company.

If you are checking this company out to see if they are any good, then the answer is run, I used these people and it was a nightmare, first thing is they gave me a cheap price and then went up on it twice then there was the three week delivery that I was told was only on paper and that it wouldn't take that long, it took about two and a half week, and when they got there my tools were missing, around 2 thousand dollars worth, and my items were scratched and dented up, they charged me for packing, get this, they charged me for packing my washer and dryer and they still ended up dented and scratched. Our driver Bruce was equally as helpful and easy to reach in terms of pickup and delivery dates.

Do not use this company! They take advantage of people, damage boxes, arrive late, and don’t put things back together like they promise… Horrible, Horrible company! Never use! And their customer service is horrible as well.

This company is the WORST! The various staff you encounter are not on the same page. They are not transparent about the final cost, and you end up paying more than expected in the end. At this point, they already have your belongings, so you cannot contest the final bill without jeopardizing your access to your belongings. When you try to complain and find solutions, the managers are unhelpful. Before you sign paperwork, they are very responsive and helpful. But as soon as you’re locked into the agreement, it is hard to reach them or get a call back. Also, they lost some of my items, broke a lot of my bins, and furniture.
Shaun Heneghan@Shaun Heneghan
DO NOT USE!! First, they gave a lowball estimate "by weight" to win the business. Then, they outsource the labor, who break multiple family antiques and treat your belongings like punching bags. When they told us the ACTUAL COST, it was nearly twice as much! Then... they ignored our calls, emails, and texts for a week--no updates. My 80-year-old mother did not get a return call or email from her "Moving Coordinator" in over a week! I spent an hour and 8 minutes on the phone, and finally was told the furniture has been sitting in a Tampa warehouse for over a week...WITH NO ETA FOR DELIVERY! My mother spent over $7000, and this is how they treat her? Finally, they show up at our new house and threaten to DRIVE AWAY with our furniture if we don't pay their ridiculous prices before unloading! When I posted this accurate and true review, they threatened to sue me--see the picture of the threatening letter.

Our Research Methodology

At Ace Interstate, we strive to deliver trustworthy, data-backed, and reliable recommendations for your moving needs. Our review process is built on transparency, accuracy, and relevance, ensuring you choose from the best interstate moving companies available. Here’s how we evaluate and rank moving providers like American Van Lines:

  • Comprehensive Research
We conduct detailed research by analyzing real customer complaints, industry benchmarks, and verified company credentials. This includes Better Business Bureau (BBB) ratings, online reviews, and consumer testimonials, allowing us to identify recurring issues like damaged items, late deliveries, or rude movers.
  • Service Quality
We assess companies on their core offerings—such as full-service moves, climate-controlled storage, in-house movers, and specialty moving (e.g., piano and antique transport). High-performing companies demonstrate consistent professionalism, on-time delivery, and safe handling of valuable belongings.
  • Licensing and Insurance
We only recommend movers that are fully licensed and insured, complying with all federal and state regulations. This ensures customers avoid unqualified operators and get peace of mind during their relocation.
  • Pricing Transparency
Companies with flat-rate moving reviews, all-inclusive quotes, and no hidden fees rank higher in our system. We reward those offering free moving estimates and no upfront deposit, making budgeting easier for customers.
  • Experience and Expertise
Our rankings prioritize movers with years of experience, especially those with expertise in long-distance, corporate, or military moves. Providers that specialize in fragile item packing and custom crating for valuables earn additional credit.
  • Customer Satisfaction
We place strong emphasis on customer support, responsiveness, and issue resolution. Movers with consistent positive reviews and minimal customer complaints are ranked higher, especially when feedback confirms excellent communication and post-move service.

Conclusion

American Van Lines may offer flat-rate pricing and specialty moving services, but frequent customer complaints about delays, damage, poor service, and a required 50% upfront deposit raise serious concerns. Limited local availability and no online tracking further add to the confusion. For a more reliable, affordable, and transparent experience, Ace Interstate Moving Partners stands out as the better choice.
